The coupe and the convertible were equipped with two doors, while the sedan and the station wagon were equipped with four doors. The station wagon was available with two seats (front and back) or with three seats (front, middle and back). The 1962 Special was available with two engines selections, the 198-cubic-inch six-cylinder and the 215-cubic-inch eight-cylinder. The 198 engine was standard equipment. The engine featured a 3.20 inch stroke and a 3.625 inch bore. The 198 produced 135 horsepower and 205 ft.-lbs. of torque. The eight-cylinder engine was optional. The 215 featured a 2.80-inch stroke and a 3.50-inch bore. The engine produced 155 horsepower and 220 ft-lbs of torque. The Special was not considered a muscle car due to its limited engine choices but rather a practical intermediate model. It was a popular vehicle of the time, due in part to its different body designs and affordability.

1965 Buick Special Skylark Wiring DiagramHerein you will see a wiring diagram of the 1965 Buick Special Skylark. Beginning with the 1964 model year, the Buick Skylark, along with the lower-priced Special from which it was derived, would move to a new intermediate-size chassis. The new chassis had a wheelbase of 115 in and the Buick Special and Skylark had a length of 203.5 in. The 215 cubic-inch-displacement aluminum block V8 engine was discontinued, and the associated tooling eventually was sold to the British manufacturer, Rover.

The standard power offering in the Skylark, as in the Special and Special Deluxe, was the all-new cast-iron 225-cu.in. 90-degree V-6. Derived from the infamous aluminum V-8, Buick officials called the creation the “Fireball V-6″ in period advertising. Cast-iron cylinder heads topped the 3.75 x 3.40-inch bore and stroke, which, thanks to the combined efforts of a Rochester two-barrel carburetor and a 9.0:1 compression ratio, produced 155hp and 225-lbs.ft. of torque. Leather-grained vinyl front bucket seats and console were optional in the sport coupe. Skylarks had bigger brakes with finned cast-iron drums, a new front suspension, and a step-on parking brake like their big brothers. Tires grew to 14-inch size.

In this diagram, you can see body and engine wiring diagram configurations. It shows the various electrical circuits, fuses, distributor, etc. It also includes electric windows, seats, wipers, etc. This wiring diagram divided into two parts, you can click the picture above to view the engine compartment part; and click here to download the rear side wiring diagram of 1965 Buick Special Skylark.
